Nexenai Capital has joined Opper AI's $3 million pre-seed round, supporting infrastructure that helps developers take generative AI applications and agents into production.

Making production AI more dependable

On 14 July 2025, Stockholm-based Opper AI disclosed a $3 million pre-seed financing alongside the launch of its Task Completion API. Nexenai Capital participated in the financing. Publicly named backers included Luminar Ventures, Emblem and Greens, together with experienced angel investors.

Opper was founded by Göran Sandahl and Johan Gustafsson, who previously helped build machine-learning observability company Unomaly. Their experience operating complex automated systems informs Opper's mission: make it simpler for developers to build production-grade generative AI features and agents that remain observable, controllable and reliable.

The platform gives developers structured, model-independent calls, interoperability across large language models, data integration and real-time tracing. By defining the expected inputs, outputs and success criteria of a task, teams can move beyond fragile prompt experiments and create feedback and evaluation loops around AI behaviour.

Why we invested

As AI moves from prototypes into operational workflows, model access alone is not enough. Developers also need infrastructure for evaluation, routing, observability, security and cost control. We believe Opper's developer-first approach and the founders' background in observability position the company to become an important layer in the production AI stack.

We are pleased to support Opper AI as it helps European and global teams deploy generative AI applications with greater confidence and flexibility.
