Nexenai Capital has joined Altrove's $10 million seed round, supporting an end-to-end platform that turns AI-predicted materials into industrially viable alternatives.

From AI prediction to industrial materials

On 31 October 2025, Paris-based Altrove announced a $10 million seed round led by Alven, with support from Bpifrance Digital Venture and existing investors. Nexenai Capital participated in the financing. The round followed Altrove's $4 million pre-seed and brought the company's total capital raised at the time to $14 million.

Altrove is working to replace critical inorganic materials that expose industrial companies to supply-chain concentration, price volatility, safety concerns and regulatory pressure. Its platform combines proprietary AI models with automated synthesis, high-throughput testing and scale-up design. Rather than stopping at a computational prediction, the team iterates through laboratory validation and prepares successful materials for manufacturing.

The company has reported early progress in rare-earth-free and cobalt-free magnetic materials for high-performance motors, as well as non-toxic, lead-free alternatives for sensors and actuators. Altrove says its predictions have advanced to experimental testing with industrial partners across automotive, electronics and energy.

Why we invested

We believe some of the most consequential applications of AI will be measured in physical outcomes, not only digital ones. Altrove connects machine intelligence, materials science and automated experimentation in a tightly integrated workflow. That approach can help convert a promising candidate into a validated, manufacturable material while strengthening the resilience of critical supply chains.

The new capital is intended to expand Altrove's automated synthesis and characterisation laboratories, recruit additional AI and materials-science talent, and advance its first materials toward industrial-scale production. We are excited to support the team as it bridges discovery, validation and manufacturing.
